A Very Special Day

Today was a very special day.

Today one year ago we met Jenny, our birth-mom, for the first time.

I was nervous. Patrick was my rock- as always.

But all nerves flew away when we met Jenny. She gave us the biggest hug and told us all about how she chose us to be the parents of her baby. I could not keep back tears as she told us that from the minute she saw our picture she "just knew." The agency sent her more profiles but she turned them all away.

We stayed together for several hours and it was obvious neither of us wanted to leave, but the case worker insisted. :) We felt like we had know each other for years.

At that meeting Jenny invited me to her next doctor's appointment so I could hear the heart beat. I could not believe it!

At that doctor's appointment she brought her ultra-sound pictures to give us. I was incredibly touched. Also at that appointment she invited Patrick to come the next time. Amazing!

So Patrick and I went to all the rest of her appointments. That is when she invited us to be there for Cal's delivery. What an incredible honor!

To celebrate this day we met with Jenny and went out to dinner together. It is always so great to spend time with her. She is always amazed how big Cal is getting.

She changed our lives forever.

This day will always be a special day for us...

A very special day.

That special day was surely an answer to all of our prayers. I thank our Heavenly Father every day for our little Cal and for Jenny bringing this blessing into our lives. Before we had Cal my heart ached for you every day...Now when I think of you and your sweet family my heart is full of smiles.... Wow...what a difference a day made!!!

Much love, Mom

I always find it amazing what miracles come in both directions affecting both the parents and birth parent(s) with adoption. You are blessing her life too...and ours, by sharing the sweet lessons you learn from your sweet little boy, with us who read your blog. :)
